This is what happens when you start looking at a lot of shots from Pitti Uomo…
Friday casual’s anchor is the blue blazer, this one is linen, usually paired with khakis. Tweak the look by matching your blazer with five pocket sand coloured linen/cotton jeans and a pair of driving shoes or desert boots. Instead of the expected polo/tennis shirt, I’ve chosen another of my favourite casual looks: the white collar shirt. For some reason I think that the white collar looks great worn without a tie, especially when there are lighter colours in the rest of the kit to which it can refer. Some shirts worn open-necked can make you look like you’ve forgotten a tie, the white collar never seems to. This one is attached to a light blue with white stripes cotton body with self-cuffs. It feels right on a hot spring day.
I couldn’t agree more. Nothing frames the face like a white collar.
I’ve really enjoyed the casual looks you’ve posted today and on April 2nd. Thanks for the continued inspiration!
I keep a white button down pretty much for this reason. I never seem to wear it on its own.
