A Tough Act to Follow

Happy Friday! I may rehearse one or two of these for the next dinner party. Do people still knock out a ditty after the cocktails kick in?

  1. Oh I do. I have “two drink” and “three drink” songs. The audience has to have that many to make them sound really fine!

J.I. can do ANYTHING. After seeing him with that younger woman in Damage, I gave up.

    GREAT post.

  2. Well, I am a liight weight in the alcohol DEPT, SO GENERALLY i JUST BECOME MORE QUIER USUALLY NOT IN THE MOOD FOR PERFORMING! ooPS SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS!

  3. Do you have a PA system? Peavy makes a great portable one – complete with speakers, mixing board, microphones, cords, etc. You can fold it up and tuck it away in a closet when not in use, but opened up, the speakers can be placed quite a distance from one another (all the cords are provided), and mix the vocals so that you can really sound good. I think every music lover, especially those who enjoy singing, should own one of these systems. Around $500.

  4. How civilized! A ‘tonic” for the soul. Goes to prove how clever and sophisticated our generation.

  5. Oh DD, I’m not so sure a PA system is a very good idea here… I can hit the back wall, but I’m a little flat these days. The children… well, it’s not age that makes you deaf….

Birdlady, welcome. There are certain things that your generation did very well. And yes, we are trying to live up to them.

Mr. Lane, it doesn’t surprise me one bit. And I am pleased to see that you’re keeping up the side.

Karena, the sad part is I’m liable to climb the stairs and belt out “The Lonely Goatherd” after one drink… Well, just at that one party.

  6. LORDY!!!

That is the best thing I have watched in decades!

Who knew Jeremy Irons could sing? Have I been way too busy decorating to know this?

    What a gift!

    Thanks for that unbelievable present.

ps. if you try it; just make sure you have that orchestra leader who also plays the piano……and, what the hell, the rest of the orchestra there after your dinner party, too!

have you watched the orchestra leader…also the piano player really carefully here?

    Miracle is what that is!

My heart stopped in “Damage” it is a miracle that I am still breathing and writing a comment.
