Casting about for what to wear on a casual day wherein the only real daytime errand I have is to get my hair cut (yes, it’s long, but it does get cut), I stumbled across a post on A Suitable Wardrobe on the “California Tuxedo.” The photo featured was of Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, the chairman of Ferrari, and is shown below.
“Well, there you have it,” I thought to myself. A few minor differences as I chose a pair of canvas jeans and a suede shoe (also from ASW by way of a friend of the blog — many thanks MO.) Perfectly comfortable for the trip to Salon 23, where I am the least hip in the room.
Pre-haircut and wearing the ever-fashionable tissue paper soul ascot.
Brilliant! I’m visiting my tailor tomorrow to have my summer blue blazer made. I hope I can look half as good as you.
Consider some white buttons Turling.
adore the ascot!
Thanks design chic, the liquid skin wasn’t enough to staunch the blood. (Beautiful site you have, by the way.)
You know I remember when you described your incredible shaving ritual, and you still get a cut? What hope is there for the rest of us?
Enjoyed the post, you can’t really go wrong emulating Mr. Montezemolo.
Nick, I do. Mostly when I am not paying attention and am rushing. I was distracted by an interview on the radio and that was that. I also think it might be time for me to begin to shave wearing my specs! Just a small nick, but thanks to some of my meds, it was quite the performer.
