Where There’s A Will, There’s a Way

Casting about for what to wear on a casual day wherein the only real daytime errand I have is to get my hair cut (yes, it’s long, but it does get cut), I stumbled across a post on A Suitable Wardrobe on the “California Tuxedo.” The photo featured was of Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, the chairman of Ferrari, and is shown below.

“Well, there you have it,” I thought to myself. A few minor differences as I chose a pair of canvas jeans and a suede shoe (also from ASW by way of a friend of the blog — many thanks MO.) Perfectly comfortable for the trip to Salon 23, where I am the least hip in the room.

Pre-haircut and wearing the ever-fashionable tissue paper soul ascot.

  1. Brilliant! I’m visiting my tailor tomorrow to have my summer blue blazer made. I hope I can look half as good as you.

  2. You know I remember when you described your incredible shaving ritual, and you still get a cut? What hope is there for the rest of us?

Enjoyed the post, you can’t really go wrong emulating Mr. Montezemolo.

  3. Nick, I do. Mostly when I am not paying attention and am rushing. I was distracted by an interview on the radio and that was that. I also think it might be time for me to begin to shave wearing my specs! Just a small nick, but thanks to some of my meds, it was quite the performer.
