I often get the comment “Oh, I could never pull that off.” I used to think that way, too. And, admittedly, I’m in a creative field where rules rarely apply. But, the older I get, the more I’m liable to stray into dressing for me — one day in khakis, a neckerchief and driving shoes, the next in a three-piece suit. It is nice that we have those options. It is also wise to realize that a good tailor, and well-cut clothes, can make any man look his best.
The upshot of my unsolicited advice? Break the rules, if you feel like it. Wear your seersucker at Easter, linen shirts at Thanksgiving and the like. Just make very sure that you look good doing it.
Thus endth the screed.
