Called “Who Dares Wins” (after the SAS motto) in the U. K. this is 1980’s action and attitude incarnate. Less Rambo and more Bond really as Lewis Collins was considered for a Bond, but didn’t make the cut.
The real reason to watch this movie is to see how to wear SAS-inspired mufti, in this case a double-breasted blazer and club tie. You can’t go wrong pairing them with narrow grey trousers, black loafers, and a white spread collar shirt. Whenever you’re not sure of the dress code, or have to make a contact in a leftist leaning bar, this is the kit to which you should turn. Always appropriate.
Yes! Lewis Collins looked SO good in that film.
Recall watching it on TV one rainy afternoon. What struck me most was that the SAS used the old model Sterling, or maybe even Sten
NCJack, I thought it was a sten, too.
Fun movie! It brings back memories of the leftist dominated Europe in the late 70’s early 80’s that had a wierd charm all its own….Chris, didn’t think anybody else ever saw this film. I have to see it again for this new perspective you gave it.
