Summer’s Steamers

Clambake, steamers, call it what you will. Is there anything easier and more summery than a pile of steamed shellfish seasoned with Old Bay, some ears of corn, smoked sausage, onions and potatoes? Even the aftermath has a sort of beauty. If you do wear white trousers to dinner, make sure that they are of the short variety. And paper napkins are just fine here. A lot of them.

  1. Beautiful! The last time I looked in the dictionary it said there’s nothing better than smoked shellfish, sausage, potatoes, and onions. I can imagine diving into a spread like that with acute enthusiasm.
