I hope the heavenly choir is well-dressed and playing an obscure 1920’s rag. The Prince of Ties has died.
His obituary in The New York Times. And here’s something much more from one who was lucky enough to correspond with him, ADG.

What a memorable letter….a man of wit and interest. The photo is priceless. I hope ADG had the time to visit with him in person or copy more of his correspondence. Wonderful obituary as well.
I was unaware of this gentleman and his style. What elegance! What fit! What satisfyingly substantial lapels to serve as backdrop to a flower! He made his presentation of self an exercise in taste. Thank you.
Square with Flair
He was he essence of charm and grace and the end of an era. He will be missed.
